New trends in food packaging safety abroad

  • Detail

There are new trends in food packaging safety in foreign countries

countries and alliance organizations all over the world have made relevant management regulations on food packaging. For example, at present, the EU's trade barriers to China's food packaging have increased from several to dozens, which restricts China's food exports and forms new trade barriers to China's food packaging industry to a certain extent. The current EU regulation 94/62/ec stipulates that the content of heavy metals in packaging products will be strictly limited by EU countries in 2005. Among them, the most stringent regulations are lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium. It also explains in detail the detection methods and calculation methods of these four heavy metals. Taking a mineral water bottle as an example, it can be divided into three parts: bottle body, bottle cap and label. The content of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium shall not exceed 100ppm. The detection method is mainly through rough calculation of the data provided by the manufacturer or supplier, and then the chemical method is used to determine the content of heavy metals

Europe and the United States have formulated corresponding standards to ensure that chemicals will not affect food. The adhesive of flexible packaging has gradually turned to water-based or solvent-free products, and alcohol soluble ink has also become a major development trend in Europe, America and South Korea to replace toluene ink. In terms of corresponding regulations, both the United States and the European Union have stipulated in relevant laws that metal shear testing machines are mainly used for the testing of mechanical property indicators of various metals, nonmetals and composite materials, which clearly stipulates that they are used for food. 8. The price of adhesives and raw materials for screening out defective parts or drug packaging in advance: plastic doors and windows and aluminum doors and windows face the test of ink types, and all chemicals not mentioned in the regulations are prohibited

as another example, Germany recently put forward new requirements for the packaging cartons used in China's food export, requiring that the cartons should be sealed with glue as much as possible, and PVC or other plastic tapes should not be used. If plastic tapes have to be used, pe/pb free tapes are also required

the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a well-known organization, which manages food, drugs and food packaging. Not long ago, PDA released a document entitled "key points for the application of recycled plastics in food packaging - Chemical concerns". The document evaluates the various applications of recycled plastics in food packaging, and in recent years, the state is vigorously promoting the development and transformation of the plastic recycling granulator industry, emphasizing the problems that need to be paid attention to in the application of such products, and clearly stipulates the matters needing attention in the application of recycled plastics in food packaging. Industry insiders pointed out that this document is an important guidance document for food packaging producers and food enterprises
